New flea market in cumberland, RI
69cumberland, RI flea market
I'm always going to different flea markets and this weekend was no exception. Me and my wife packed up the kids and headed to a new flea market, one that just opened the weekend before. It's called "The big flea" and suppose to be just that.
So when we arrived at the big flea, which is located at 1 Ann and Hope Way Cumberland, RI 02864-6918(for anyone who wants to visit) it was a bit busy, but we found parking without a problem. Admission was .50 cents because it was a Saturday and $1.00 on Sundays if your wondering. First thing I notice is that it was a good size, lots of vendors. As we all walked I started to observed the lack of antiques, which for me is a negative.I did notice that all the vendors we're not pushy and very friendly. It had a lot of new stuff and some older stuff but not very old stuff. It was packed with games, DVDs, books, some bikes, jewelry, toys, and a bunch of odds and ends.My son loved it because he got to get a xbox game for five dollars and a haircut, yes I said haircut. My other son enjoyed the pizza very much and he bought some old wrestler action figures he wanted. As for my wife, she bought a bracelet and for me two comics, which I got a great deal on and I bought a DVD, brand new never opened for three dollars.
The big flea is a good size flea market with friendly people. Prices are more then fair. Not much antiques yet but it just opened. Great for video games and DVDs. I will be going back again and anybody that loves flea markets like I do should go check it out one weekend.

This place stinks. It reminds me of Narragansett race track how it went to the crapper years later. Th flea market was terrific till the new junk moved into town... Cumberland has no antiques or stuff like that just new chia junk! Do yourself a favor and head to seekonk speedway fleamarket on sundays at 6am.
I have sold at both. Seekonk is great for used or 2nd hand items. There are a few vendors that sell new stuff. The Big Flea has the potential to be great, they just have it set up wrong in my opinion. Do not knock vendors who sell new items, we make a living doing it. It is good to have a mixture of both, but just because you do not want new items, does not mean every person who goes to a flea market agrees with you. With that said, selling new junk as you call it, I do better at Seekonk with my new junk.
We might go there today. Hope it's inside. Seekonk speedway lea is good, but most vendors know what they have. You can get stuff or cheap sometimes.
